Au lieu de se concentrer principalement sur les probl\u00e8mes, il propose de se pencher sur ce qui fonctionne bien dans nos vies.<\/p>\n<p>Jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 ce moment-l\u00e0, la psychologie se concentrait principalement sur les causes des difficult\u00e9s humaines et sur les m\u00e9thodes pour traiter les probl\u00e8mes, comme les troubles mentaux, la d\u00e9pression, les addictions et autres pr\u00e9occupations du genre.<\/p>\n<p>Selon Seligman, cette d\u00e9marche \u00e9troite qui se limitait \u00e0 la gu\u00e9rison avait oubli\u00e9 une mission plus vaste : celle d&rsquo;am\u00e9liorer globalement la qualit\u00e9 de vie des individus. En effet, il s&rsquo;agit maintenant non seulement de gu\u00e9rir, mais aussi d&rsquo;optimiser l&rsquo;exp\u00e9rience de vie de chacun.<\/p>\n<p>Cette perspective a donn\u00e9 naissance \u00e0 une nouvelle approche en psychologie, accompagn\u00e9e de nouvelles th\u00e9matiques de recherche. La majorit\u00e9 des chercheurs sont d&rsquo;accord pour d\u00e9finir la psychologie positive comme l&rsquo;\u00e9tude des conditions et processus qui contribuent \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9panouissement et au bon fonctionnement des individus, des groupes et des institutions.<\/p>\n<p>En cons\u00e9quence, la psychologie positive se consacre \u00e0 examiner ce qui fonctionne \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle individuelle, dans les relations interpersonnelles et au niveau social. Au niveau individuel, elle explore les comp\u00e9tences mentales, \u00e9motionnelles et relationnelles qui nous aident \u00e0 appr\u00e9cier la vie, \u00e0 go\u00fbter au bonheur et \u00e0 surmonter les obstacles et les d\u00e9fis qui se pr\u00e9sentent.<\/p>\n<p>En bref, les th\u00e8mes centraux de la psychologie positive concernent nos points forts, nos talents, nos comp\u00e9tences, nos valeurs et nos qualit\u00e9s, plut\u00f4t que nos faiblesses, nos d\u00e9fauts ou nos lacunes.<\/p>\n<p>Cela dit, il est important de souligner que la psychologie positive ne pr\u00e9tend pas \u00e9viter les moments d\u00e9sagr\u00e9ables. Au contraire, elle reconna\u00eet que ces moments ont leur place et leur signification. N\u00e9anmoins, elle offre des outils pour faire face plus efficacement \u00e0 ces \u00e9tats \u00e9motionnels et en tirer des le\u00e7ons constructives.<\/p>\n<p>Ce mouvement novateur conna\u00eet un grand succ\u00e8s : de nombreuses universit\u00e9s am\u00e9ricaines et europ\u00e9ennes proposent des cours sur la psychologie positive, et des programmes universitaires d\u00e9di\u00e9s \u00e0 la mise en pratique de cette approche \u00e9mergent. De plus, plus de 50 groupes de recherche, impliquant des centaines de chercheurs \u00e0 travers le monde, se penchent sur cette nouvelle approche passionnante.<\/p>\n<p>Selon Martin Seligman, il existe deux strat\u00e9gies compl\u00e9mentaires pour am\u00e9liorer la condition humaine. L&rsquo;une vise \u00e0 soulager et \u00e0 lib\u00e9rer ce qui ne va pas, tandis que l&rsquo;autre cherche \u00e0 renforcer ce qui est positif.
